Everyone sees their own figures
A colleague used to wait until someone else had worked out the margin. Now every colleague sees their own margin, per period and per placement.

A dashboard where every colleague sees their own margin, with the forecast beside the invoiced hours.
Derec is a Dutch staffing agency for education. A staffing agency makes a margin on every placement of a candidate at a school. I built a dashboard in which every colleague sees their own margin, with the forecast beside the hours actually invoiced.
A colleague used to wait until someone else had worked out the margin. Now every colleague sees their own margin, per period and per placement.
Beside the expected margin is what was actually invoiced. A placement that brings in fewer hours than planned therefore shows straight away.
When hours are corrected later, the dashboard recalculates the margin. The figure stays current without anyone updating an overview.
BEFORE
The margin was kept in a spreadsheet. A colleague only saw their own figures once someone else had worked them out. On top of that, the expected hours from the recruitment system were not set beside the hours actually invoiced, so a difference only showed up late.
THE FORECAST
The expected margin follows from the placements and rates in Carerix, the recruitment system. The dashboard calculates it per placement and per week, with holidays already taken into account.
THE REAL HOURS
The invoiced hours come from the payroll system. The dashboard automatically links every line of hours to the placement it belongs to. Where that fails for a few lines, administration links them by hand, and the next time that is no longer needed for the same placement.
ONE FIGURE
As soon as a period's hours have been processed, the real margin replaces the forecast. Until then the dashboard shows the forecast, so there is always a figure.
THE DASHBOARD
Every colleague finds their own margin per period there, and their own placements with the difference between forecast and actual. Management also has an overview of the whole company.
CONTROL
The dashboard only reads from the source systems and changes nothing in them. Where a line does not clearly belong to a placement, administration decides. That keeps every figure traceable to its source.
What happens by itself, and what colleagues can do in the dashboard.
WHAT HAPPENS
A new or changed placement in the recruitment system ends up in the forecast by itself, without anyone having to copy anything.
After every period, administration reads in the invoiced hours, and the dashboard links every line to a placement.
A period only counts once every line belongs to a placement. After that, the real margin takes the forecast's place.
If an earlier period is corrected later, the dashboard recalculates that period's margin.
WHAT CAN BE DONE IN THE DASHBOARD
Per period, with what has been invoiced and what is still expected.
Per placement and per period, with the difference between forecast and reality.
For management: every placement and colleague in one overview, which can be filtered per colleague.
For administration: reading in a period's hours and linking what could not be linked to a placement by itself.
It has been in use at Derec since June 2026. Every colleague can now check for themselves how their own margin is built up, instead of waiting for a calculation.
